About
Kasia Domańska's painting is a celebration of femininity, beauty and living in harmony with nature. This femininity is expressed not only literally, but also symbolically through the delicacy and beauty of flowers. The sun-drenched large-format canvases are filled with gigantic, spectacular flowers with intense colors that play a leading role. They are a kind of prelude to the background, in which the figures of women enjoy being in the bosom of nature. The background is created by landscapes combining a uniform blue sky, light sand and often a narrow strip of land on the horizon.
Domanska's hyperrealistic visions balance on the borderline between reality and dreams. Open compositions, framed in a manner characteristic of the artist, become monumental allegories with a decidedly positive meaning. The title of the exhibition and the titles of subsequent paintings refer to the constantly changing cycles of life and the circling natural processes taking place in the world. After periods of sowing, growth, there comes a period of flowering, followed by periods of stabilization, maturity, withdrawal and dying, to then come full circle and - after successive cycles - be reborn again. This is a kind of reference to the current situation in the world and gives hope and even certainty for renewal. While art can be a "daydream", it is also a way to inspire real action and change.
The artist herself affirms everyday life in harmony with the female self and the surrounding nature, in which she sees a climate conducive to revival and rebirth. A riot of colors and light transforms her paintings into forms pulsating with life-giving energy. The result is works that are powerful tools to change the way we perceive and engage with the world around us. Intuitive associations with the climate of Florida and California are obvious in the case of this work, because the canvases give the impression that they were created in a studio in Palm Springs or West Palm Beach. Therefore, no matter where the artist's works end up, their future owners will be able to enjoy the life-giving sun and the everlasting beauty that inspires, captured on canvas.
